OPPORTUNITY
Due to continued company growth, MLEI Consulting Engineers has an exciting opportunity for a Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Brisbane office, reporting to a Civil Engineering Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide accurate, efficient, and high-quality civil design and drafting services across a range of projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collaborate with the drafting and engineering teams throughout project development.
* Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to produce detailed and accurate civil engineering drawings.
* Prepare design sketches, diagrams, and layouts to support project workflows.
* Contribute to a diverse range of civil engineering projects, including new works, upgrades, renovations, and complex structures, along with associated infrastructure.
* Develop drawings from concept through to detailed and final construction documentation for civil elements such as stormwater drainage, water supply, sewerage systems, foundations, earthworks, and supporting and in-ground structures.
* Coordinate with internal disciplines and external consultants to ensure integrated project delivery.
* Undertake site inspections and prepare reports relevant to civil works associated with projects.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
* Minimum 2 years’ relevant industry experience.
* AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2), or at least three years’ relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
* Strong understanding of drafting standards and documentation requirements.
* Solid background in science, mathematics, and engineering technology.
* High level of technical competency and attention to detail.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment, show initiative, and seek guidance when required.
* Accuracy, neatness, and patience in drawing and documentation work.
* Well-developed problem-solving, listening, and organisational skills.
