An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified O&G Specialist to join the medical team at South East Regional Hospital, a Level 4 Health Facility based in the Bega Valley, part of the Southern NSW - Coastal Network.

Where you'll be working: Bega is located 429 kilometres south of Sydney, 228 kilometres from Canberra, or 174 kilometres from the NSW Snow fields. Nearby Merimbula (32 kilometres) offers a regional airport with a short 55‐minute flight to Sydney and daily flights to Melbourne. The area has quality private and public schools and plenty of outdoor activities for young families.

Your Opportunity:

The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will provide expert medical assessment and management of patients in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) Service within Southern New South Wales Local Health District. The role involves the provision of specialist services to emergency patients, inpatients and outpatients.

The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist will proactively:

* Support the development of O&G services
* Support and facilitate a culture of learning and best practice

Selection Criteria:

* Specialist registration or eligibility for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) or equivalent recognition.
* Evidence of continuing medical education and self‐monitoring/audit practices consistent with scope of practice requirements.
* Significant experience in O&G with demonstrated competency working independently with complex emergencies and limited support.
* Proven capacity in providing effective high‐quality services, demonstrated through successful clinical practice and participation in quality improvement activities.
* Demonstrated commitment to teaching with experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students and other hospital staff.
* Demonstrate skills and attitudes appropriate for a Senior Medical Practitioner, including modelling a high standard of professional behaviour to junior staff.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and allied health colleagues as part of a multi‐disciplinary team, and to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff across multiple sites.
* Demonstrated commitment to behaviours aligning with NSW Health CORE values and SNWLHD values, goals and strategies.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases

This is a Category 'A' position. All new employees must comply with NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015, including proof of vaccination against influenza and other OASV requirements. Vaccination is compulsory for staff entering any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF).
