Located in the high-rainfall zone of the Acheron Valley, this flagship 3,000-acre property is the heart of a data-driven enterprise that prizes quality and genetic excellence. Off the back of this significant national success, the owners are ready to scale. We are seeking a high-calibre Farm Manager to drive production forward, with the ambitious goal of doubling the current output and further developing this prestigious brand.
The operation This is a sophisticated, precision-managed enterprise supported by modern infrastructure and advanced handling facilities. The property runs a herd of 950 registered Wagyu breeders with split spring/autumn calving, supported by 300 recipient cows dedicated to embryo production. Management is strictly data-driven, utilising Stockbook and AgriWebb to track every metric of the breeding and finishing programs. You will lead a dedicated team—including two farm hands and an admin specialist—while reporting directly to the owner and finance manager to execute a vision of growth and excellence.
The Role Reporting directly to the owner, you will be the operational leader for the property. You will oversee all aspects of on-farm management, including:
Leading and executing elite breeding programs, including all hands‑on AI and ET work.
Overseeing weaning, containment, backgrounding, and finishing programs.
Managing intensive pasture and feed programs in coordination with the agronomist.
Staff supervision, team leadership, and mentorship.
Infrastructure and equipment maintenance.
Data analysis, performance reporting, and contributing to strategic planning to double production.
The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a candidate who brings an ownership mentality and commercial awareness to the role. You must be ambitious for improvement and detail‑oriented. Essential requirements include:
Proven, hands‑on experience in large‑scale beef breeding and finishing operations.
Demonstrated expertise in Artificial Insemination (AI) and Embryo Transfer (ET) programs.
Solid knowledge of pasture management and proficiency with farm data systems.
Strong team leadership skills and machinery operation capability.
Resilience and the ability to drive a high-growth production phase.
A background in intensive Wagyu breeding is highly preferred and considered ideal, but not a necessity.
