About the Role
Join our growing team in Darwin on a casual basis. You will be caring for people with trauma backgrounds, complex behaviours, and disabilities in a 24/7 residential setting, working long or short shifts in our community access program. Positions are also available for support work in remote communities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide daily care, supervision, and transport for clients.
2. Support clients to live independently.
3. Develop and support individual care plans, including activities, medication, hygiene, and meal schedules.
4. Follow established behavioural support plans and management plans.
5. Support clients in working towards their individual goals.
6. Encourage community engagement to support and increase clients' life skills.
7. Develop professional relationships with participants, their families, and the community.
8. Apply a person-centered approach and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).
9. Provide accurate and timely case notes, reports, and incident reports.
10. Use Brevity Care Software.
Skills & Experience
1. Qualifications or experience in Disability, Individual Support, Personal Care, Social Work, or related fields (or actively studying).
2. Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health conditions and behaviours of concern.
3. Experience in residential care and/or community access settings.
4. Knowledge of trauma and its effects on development and behaviour.
5. Ability to contribute positively within a team.
6. NDIS knowledge and awareness.
7. Completion of NDIS mandatory orientation module.
8. Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
9. Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, including sleepovers and active nights.
10. Availability for community access shifts, both long and short.
11. Successful candidates will need to clear probity checks, including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Children Check, and/or NDIS Worker Screening. Own reliable transport is required.
