We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support our Finance team. Reporting to the Superintendent Financial Reporting, the Senior Accountant oversees all financial accounting activities for the consolidated SIH group, providing highlevel professional support across monthly financial and management reporting, groupwide analysis, budgeting, cashflow monitoring, and fixed asset and accounts receivable functions. This role is also responsible for preparing the annual statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, and delivering accurate, timely consolidated financial results. This is a permanent full-time position based at St Georges Terrace, Perth.
In this role you'll be responsible for:
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all aspects of the consolidated SIH group's financial reporting, including delivering accurate, timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
* Preparation of year end statutory accounts for SIH Group.
* Preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly CITIC Group reports and other management reports when required.
* Preparation of quarterly State Government Royalty lodgement.
* Assisting the Manager and Superintendent of Financial Reporting by conducting detailed variance analysis, preparing audit documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely month end close processes.
* Assisting preparation of accounting memos and contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
* Preparation of monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and management reports, ensuring all relevant financial data is accurately captured, validated, and submitted within the reporting systems.
* Supervising Accounts Receivable function, ensuring accuracy of work performed by reviewing journal entry, financial reporting prepared by accountant and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
* Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non compliance.
* Assisting in process improvement and system enhancement initiatives.
* Ensuring Accounting standards and policies are adhered to.
* Actively promoting and monitoring compliance with company policies at all levels of the business.
* Promoting and supporting a value adding culture at all levels of the business.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 5 years experience in similar position.
* Tertiary Qualification in Accounting, CPA or CA qualification.
* Solid working knowledge of IFRS, Australian Accounting standards (AASB) and strong financial analysis skills.
* Advanced computer software skills including Excel.
* Experience with SAP is an advantage.
* Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work autonomously and perform under pressure and short deadlines.
* Bilingual abilities to speak/ write in Mandarin and English.
* A Police Clearance is required for this position.
* Availability to work ad hoc weekends & public holidays to meet the companys monthly reporting.
