About The Role
The School Counsellor provides expert support to promote mental health, student wellbeing, and positive engagement with school life. Through professional counselling services and targeted interventions, the role empowers students to navigate challenges, build resilience, and thrive both personally and academically. The School Counsellor contributes to a collaborative and student-centred culture, offering guidance and expertise that strengthens the school's approach to wellbeing and supports a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
About Us
The Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) provides education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs).
The Catholic Education Office (CEO) within CECG provides strategic and enabling services to Schools, ELCs and the CEO. The CEO provides services in areas such as Education and Performance Improvement, Catholic Identity, School and Family Services, Strategy and Special Projects, Finance and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology, and People and Culture.

Qualifications And Eligibility
Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Driver's Licence
Minimum of four years relevant post qualification practice experience
Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or Counselling.
Psychologists must hold registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Social Workers must hold registration or be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
Counsellors must hold registration with either the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) or the Australian Counsellors Association (ACA).
Individuals must adhere to the association requirements with regards to:
Supervision and professional learning; and
Annual maintenance of membership while working and provide evidence of membership to the employer.
