We are pioneers in the Australian lithium industry, including building the first battery-grade lithium hydroxide plant in Australia. At TLEA, you'll be part of a team involved in a world-class project that benefits the Western Australian community and the world. This role is for a Senior Engineer Electrical & Instrumentation to join the Kwinana plant on a 2 year maximum term contract.
Responsibilities
* Lead Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) design activities across all project phases, including developing design scopes, conducting technical reviews, and approving engineering design documentation to ensure alignment with project intent and quality standards.
* Coordinate improvements to Technical Standards and support the performance of engineering service providers.
* Apply a strong understanding of Electrical & Instrumentation engineering terminology, theory, core processes, and discipline-specific activities.
* Perform engineering tasks, validate construction methodologies, and provide guidance on engineering decisions to ensure alignment with project, construction, and commissioning standards.
* Ensure E&I system designs consider interfaces with other disciplines (mechanical, process, civil) and review/sign-off on engineering design documentation as the accountable engineer, engaging other disciplines as required during design reviews.
* Apply specialised discipline expertise and provide leadership to meet TLEA's engineering and quality expectations.
* Identify and assess risks, make risk-informed decisions, and promote a risk-aware culture to support safe and productive outcomes.
What you can bring
* Extensive experience in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering with relevant industry background.
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.
* Proven experience in project management from design through commissioning.
* Experience in refining plant operations.
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
* Effective communication and leadership capabilities with the ability to convey technical knowledge clearly.
* Demonstrated ability to follow established processes.
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
