Working end to end from discovery through to delivery, this is an opportunity to be embedded in a product design and delivery process and make a real difference in our wealth management digital experience.
We are looking for a multi-disciplinary designer who is comfortable designing experiences based on a deep understanding of our users' goals and needs. You will be comfortable articulating core needs and pain points, interviewing, researching and understanding what needs are being underserved. You will work closely with product, business analysts and other designers to develop prototypes to test, and finesse and evolve features for implementation.
You'll conduct stakeholder workshops, desk research and regular usability testing to bring the whole team closer to our customers. You'll embrace remote working tools and processes to present your findings and solutions to your team and the wider business. You'll be comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced team, whether gathering evidence for your ideas to present to your product owner and stakeholders or providing detailed handover to your development team.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate closely with a cross functional team of Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers and other experts across the business to design elevated digital experiences
- Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research to validate hypotheses, and uncover our users' needs and motivations
- Craft simple, innovative, and intuitive solutions to complex scenarios
- Leverage our design system to create low and high-fidelity designs, facilitate walkthroughs with developers and provide support through to delivery
- Produce sketches, flowcharts, wireframes and prototypes for testing, validation, and to support robust discussions with your team
- Design and facilitate workshops for alignment, ideation and iteration, for small and large groups, remotely and in person
- Design and conduct moderated and unmoderated usability testing (remote)
- Embed a HCD approach in the team's ways of working through coaching and demonstrating a HCD skillset, toolset and mindset at every stage of the process.
What we're looking for:
- 2 + years design experience
- Experience with systems thinking and design systems a plus
- Designers who thrive in a collaborative team, bringing excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- End to end experience of managing design activities across the user-centred design process including strong design research skills, iterative design and prototyping and facilitation of usability testing.
- Experience working in an agile team using story mapping, task flows, needs analysis and prioritisation based on user insights.
- A flexible, commercial, and practical approach to design, all the while remaining the advocate for the end user
- Designers who think big! You won't be afraid to challenge the norm
- A passionate design advocate, committed to best practice, coaching and mentoring the team and sharing ideas and inspiration
- A portfolio showcasing experience in product design where you have previously shipped UX/UI design for digital products
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Human Computer-Interaction or equivalent practical experience.
- Highly skilled in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and collaboration tools such as Mural.
- Comfortable working in an Agile environment and resilience in the face of shifting priorities.
