Job Description
This role involves working within Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, assisting people to live as independently as possible by developing daily skills, personal care, and social connections.
* Helping individuals achieve their National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) goals through skill development, including housekeeping, personal care, and budgeting.
* Providing assistance with personal care tasks where required, ensuring individual needs are met.
* Supporting meal planning, cooking, light cleaning, and facilitating community connection through social activities and outings.
* Accompanying individuals on daily activities, promoting engagement and participation.
* Maintaining relationships between the individuals we support and their family, friends, and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred care and support, focusing on individual strengths and abilities.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Develop and maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and stakeholders.
* Contribute to a culture of inclusivity, respect, and empowerment.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will possess:
* A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or relevant qualification.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, sleepovers, and active awake shifts.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Knowledge of NDIS principles and practices.
* Experience working with individuals with complex needs is highly valued.
