Role Summary
NSW Public Works (NSW PW) is part of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and supports many different local and state government agencies to deliver critical infrastructure initiatives by providing expert advisory, planning, design, delivery and support services.
We are seeking a Senior Program Manager with experience in the delivery of infrastructure to join NSW Public Works in our Queanbeyan Office.
Responsibilities
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of in-house project and construction managers to deliver infrastructure projects and/or programs. This includes managing resources, budgets, programmes and stakeholders/clients. Typical projects will involve design management, procurement and construction management of NSW Government and Local Government infrastructure assets. The role offers an opportunity to join our management team and play an integral part in developing and delivering commercial and strategic objectives.
About You
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to ensure excellence in project delivery, client development, engagement and people leadership
- Experience managing a team and portfolio in the design or construction sector
- Motivated leader with proven ability to build a collaborative team, engage staff and develop capability and potential in others
- Proven experience planning, developing and delivering a range of infrastructure asset classes (e.g. Water, Transport, Waste, Buildings)
- Extensive working experience in project management of capital/infrastructure works, design management, NSW Government procurement and contractor management activities on construction projects
- A university qualification in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management (Building) is essential
- Additional qualifications in Project Management are preferable
- Well‐developed knowledge and understanding of current Work Health and Safety legislation and regulations is preferred
- Demonstrated level of computer proficiency in the use of digital devices, applications, software and services
- A current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel to regional locations, which may include overnight stays
