Job Description
The Community Safety Services Officer plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being and safety of the community through education, enforcement, and proactive patrols.
This casual position involves improving community wellbeing and safety by addressing regulatory obligations related to dog and cat ownership, road and public space safety.
Main Responsibilities
1. Conduct investigations with support as an Authorised Officer, gathering evidence and taking necessary enforcement action.
2. Provide expert advice on community safety matters to the public.
3. Ensure dogs are effectively contained and controlled to prevent wandering and potential attacks.
4. Proactively monitor Council roads, open spaces, and beaches for compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, and procedures.
5. Enhance community safety by monitoring parking compliance and maintaining clear and accessible footpaths and streets.
Skills and Qualifications
* A valid Australian Driver's Licence is required.
* Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster, including outside regular business hours, is essential.
* A National Police Check or willingness to undertake one is necessary.
* Customer focus and a passion for delivering exceptional outcomes are key attributes.
* Experience in a regulatory role or similar field is desirable.
* Conflict management, negotiation, and mediation skills are also valuable assets.
