The Role
the Purchasing Manager plays a key role in driving growth and improving operational efficiency across the business. This hands‐on leadership position involves overseeing critical functions such as inventory control, supplier relationships, risk management, supplier quality and warranty processes, and monthly reporting. The incumbent will also be responsible for forecasting, budgeting, long‐range planning, business partnering, and enhancing internal controls. The role requires a dynamic individual who can balance high‐level strategic planning with a strong focus on the day‐to‐day details, ensuring the success of the procurement process within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the workflow of procurement both inwards and despatch to ensure business compliance
* Identify and manage commercial and procurement risks and liabilities
* Develop best‐practice processes and procedures to deliver operational efficiencies, compliance, and cost benefits
* Proactively manage supplier performance to meet contract requirements, including scheduling, costing, and quality standards
* Support and advise in achieving optimal contractual terms for key supplier agreements and procurement activities
* Ensure high forecast and reporting accuracy for planning and procurement functions
* Develop and optimise end‐to‐end production, replenishment, and distribution plans
* Conduct extensive data analysis, problem‐solving, and negotiation to resolve issues effectively
* Foster long‐term, strategic, and sustainable supplier relationships
* Provide high‐level strategic guidance to develop and implement business goals and performance monitoring
* Identify and implement strategic business opportunities to support growth
* Partner with senior leaders to push the boundaries of departmental goals, driving the business forward
* Develop analytical models to identify critical trends and support strategic decision‐making with forward visibility
* Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures
* Ensure all procurement‐related policies and procedures comply with statutory requirement
You will need to demonstrate
* Automobile industry and international listed company working experience highly preferred
* Qualification in related field preferable
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement or planning and forecasting required
* Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated ability to lead broad teams in a fast‐changing environment
* Demonstrate keeping up to date with continuing education required for position
