About the Role:
Tradewind are working with a Secondary school oriented in Taylor's Lakes, situated in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, offering a part-time 7-10 Japanese position starting in Term 2. A fantastic opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic school community. The institution is welcoming to both new graduates and seasoned teachers, offering learning coaching and access to exceptional resources.
Key duties:
1. Develop age-appropriate and engaging curriculum plans that align the Victorian Curriculum for Japanese LOTE at a Secondary level
2. Deliver effective and interactive Japanese language instruction, focusing on vocabulary, pronunciation, and language structures.
3. Introduce aspects of the Japanese culture into lessons through age-appropriate activities, stories, and projects to foster cultural awareness.
4. Design assessments to evaluate their language acquisition and provide constructive feedback to students
5. Collaborate with other teachers and departments to integrate the Japanese language and culture into broader educational themes and projects.
6. Stay informed about developments in language education, attend workshops, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and methodologies.
Skills & Experience:
7. Completed relevant Qualifications in Education
8. Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration
9. Have unrestricted working rights in Australia
10. Demonstrate previous experience in Japanese LOTE, highly valued
11. Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
