About the Role
An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced medical leader to join the Critical Care & Perioperative Services leadership team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH). As Medical Lead, you'll play a central role in delivering safe, high-quality care while contributing to key operational priorities, performance outcomes, and strategic goals.
In this pivotal position, you will provide expert medical leadership and governance across all Critical Care & Perioperative Services, working collaboratively with program leaders, clinicians and consumers. You'll also guide service planning and improvement initiatives, ensuring clinical practice remains contemporary, effective and aligned with best practice standards.
The 0.5 FTE allocated to this role is dedicated solely to managerial duties, with no clinical practice component.
About the Critical Care & Perioperative Services Program
The Critical Care & Perioperative Services Program at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital consists of the Intensive Care Unit, Theatres and Technical Suites and Anaesthetics Services.
About You
You're an experienced medical leader with a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in complex clinical environments. You'll bring proven leadership, expert clinical governance, and a collaborative spirit to this vital role within Critical Care & Perioperative Services.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Specialist medical qualifications registerable with the Medical Board of Australia, along with current AHPRA registration.
- Proven clinical leadership experience with the ability to influence, motivate and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality Neuroscience & Rehabilitation services.
- Exceptional communication, analytical and decision-making skills, with demonstrated success leading service reform, financial management and achieving service improvement outcomes.
- In-depth knowledge of contemporary Critical Care & Perioperative services and public health operations, clinical governance frameworks and workforce management principles.
