Community Corrections is responsible for the supervision of adults who have been sentenced to a community-based order by the courts or released to parole by Parole Board Queensland. Community Corrections has a strong commitment to keeping communities safe, and reducing the risk of re-offending by facilitating positive behavioural change in supervised individuals to enable them to lead more productive crime-free lives.
The Community Operations team based in Brisbane is a small team who support operational practice delivery for the Community Corrections Regions, monitor and report on practice and operational performance and trends and oversees practice leadership for the division. In this role you will report to the Manager, Community Operations. The position is responsible for providing advice and assistance on operational service delivery activities and strategic directions for Community Corrections.

Responsibilities
 * Monitor and report on practice and operational performance and trends across the state to drive consistency, quality, continuous improvement strategies or inform the implementation of interventions where required.
 * Analyse complex operational and practice issues, develop innovative strategies for their resolution and provide evidence-informed advice to senior management on risks, issues and trends relating to service delivery.
 * Provide support and advice to staff involved in offender management activities, in line with established offender case management frameworks.
 * Provide a strategic analysis of variations and trends in organisational performance for the Assistant Commissioner, Community Corrections and Deputy Commissioner, Community Corrections and Specialist Operations.
 * Collaborate with other business areas and external stakeholders in order to achieve strategic outcomes.
 * Work with senior managers to align organisational strategies to improve performance measurement, evaluation and reporting practices.
 * Provide advice and support to senior management across the command, including the Director, Operations and Assistant Commissioner.
 * Demonstrate a high level of understanding of contemporary integrated offender management issues, trends and practices including the management of orders, assessment, risk analysis and planning.
 * Oversee the resource management and workload monitoring for the Community Corrections command.
 * Assist in the collation and analysis of data, and the provision of performance reporting through understanding of business systems, platforms and processes, to meet the needs of the Community Corrections command.
 * Examine service delivery, resource allocation and demand for possible changes to policy and practice and suggest improvements to align workload with available resources.
 * Lead the delivery of strategic activities to enhance service delivery and improve practice across Community Corrections.
 * Assist in the preparation of reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence for the Command.
 * Contribute to the development of operational plans and strategies for the Command.
 * Ensure the timely provision of advice to relevant staff and other key staff and stakeholders regarding the business operations of the Command.
 * Represent Community Corrections and the Agency at meetings and inter-agency committees as required.
 * Attend to public enquiries referred to the Command and where possible deal with and resolve these enquiries.
 * Support the implementation of the Agency's performance framework and mechanisms.
 * Maintain a high level knowledge of QCS activities and provide direction and advice to staff in regions when required.
 * At the direction of the Director, Community Corrections Operations undertake other duties as required to ensure the effective operation of the Community Corrections Command.
