About the team
The City Inspectorate branch is responsible for enforcement of the City's standards and local laws, across building, community, public safety and environmental health compliance to protect safety and amenity for the City's residents and visitors.
Community Compliance business unit responsibilities
* Patrolling and enforcing parking laws in paid parking and timed parking areas, off-street regulated parking areas, designated disabled parking bays, and respond to and investigate complaints and breaches of parking regulations.
* Reviewing and managing unpaid parking fines and related disputes.
* Delivering animal management initiatives to residents including patrols and enforcement, impounding and off leash facilities, pet education, and complaints management, to ensure animals are appropriately cared for and managed in compliance with legislation.
About your new role
The Team Leader Parking Operations position provides operational leadership and direction to the City Parking team, ensuring the effective execution of daily responsibilities with a strong focus on field-based support and operational readiness.
This role oversees logistics, scheduling, patrol coordination and administrative decisions, while also managing officer performance, training, and communication between team members.
The Team Leader Parking Operations ensures all activities are conducted in alignment with established policies and procedures, promoting a cohesive and compliant work environment.
Responsibilities
* Managing health, safety, and welfare of staff in line with City principles, with emphasis on field safety protocols.
* Applying legislation and local laws effectively across all aspects of the role, including real-time scenarios.
* Leading and supporting staff through evaluations, field accompaniment, and fostering development.
* Coordinating rosters, leave, and overtime to ensure consistent field coverage and patrol continuity.
* Building strong relationships with staff, stakeholders, and community groups to promote compliance and service improvement.
* Providing leadership in parking regulation, workplace safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
* Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to mentor, develop staff, and manage performance in field-based operations.
* Strong initiative and ability to work independently, ensuring tasks are completed in both office and field environments.
* Passionate, enthusiastic, and motivated to thrive in a dynamic, field-oriented setting.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, consultation, and presentation capabilities.
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality service to internal and external customers.
* Proficient in technology, adaptable to new systems and processes, and committed to continuous improvement.
* Sound understanding of State and City legislation and local government regulatory responsibilities.
* Possession of a Class C unrestricted driver's licence is required.
* Willing to undergo a Police Check.
