MCi Carbon (MCi) is a world-leading Australian clean technology company transforming CO2 emissions into valuable materials that provide profitable decarbonisation pathways for the hard to abate sector including cement, steel, glass, mining and chemical industries.
Founded in 2013, MCi uses carbon engineering processes to transform captured CO2 emissions from most industrial sources into solid materials that can be used to manufacture a range of carbon embodied building and construction products. MCi uses CO2 as a resource to create profitable pathways for many industries to reduce their emissions. This is carbon utilisation (CCU). Its mission is to contribute to the pathway to zero emissions by removing 1 billion tonnes of CO2. MCi continues to receive global recognition for its R&D, including winning #1 Cleantech Pitch at COP26, a Mission Innovation Net Zero Industries Mission #1 Australia Award at COP28, and a 2023 Banksia Sustainability Award.
