Mornington Specialist Eye Clinic is looking for an Orthoptist two days per week to assist our Ophthalmologists. We have a lovely clinical setting, state of the art equipment, and friendly staff and Doctors. Days are a fixed Monday and a Thursday or Friday on alternate weeks. Salary is commensurate with experience and is pro-rata.
To apply for this role you must have a Masters Degree in Orthoptics from an Australian University.
Your duties will include opening and closing clinical rooms when necessary, carrying out standard orthoptic workup such as taking history, refraction, performing OCTs and anterior and posterior segment scans, A-scans, optical biometry and visual fields tests and ensure lenses are ordered for procedures in a timely fashion. You will assist medical practitioners when necessary, as is normal. with in room procedures and help with triage if required.

* You will be able to work calmly, efficiently, accurately and tidily in busy conditions and under pressure; You will have a professional and friendly attitude towards patients and colleagues
* You will have the ability to integrate well with other Orthoptists at the clinic and be able to communicate well with Doctors, co-workers and the Clinic Manager.
* You will have the ability to undertake normal orthoptic duties quickly and efficiently.
* English will be your first language as a high standard of reading, writing and spelling skills are required for this role.
* You will be committed to providing the best care available for patients. You will be a patient, caring and kind individual when dealing with old people and patients in general.
* A driving licence
