The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager for ANZ to lead and deliver comprehensive HR services across our region. This is a pivotal, hands‑on role that blends strategic leadership with operational excellence. You'll guide a small, dedicated team to manage all aspects of HR, including industrial relations, performance management, payroll oversight, and talent development. Along the way, you'll coach leaders, champion engagement initiatives, and foster a positive workplace culture.
Success in this role requires a strong business partnership mindset. HR is highly valued within our organization, with established credibility and close relationships across the business. Your ability to combine commercial acumen with a deep understanding of what drives operational success will be critical—and highly rewarding.
This role reports directly to the EVP – ANZ and is part of the ANZ Management Team, contributing to strategic planning and business success.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead HR operations across ANZ and manage a small HR team (including Senior Payroll & HR Officer).
* Provide expert advice on performance management, IR/ER matters, and workplace investigations.
* Negotiate Enterprise Bargaining Agreements and manage union relationships.
* Oversee payroll processes for multiple entities and annual compliance activities.
* Drive talent acquisition, succession planning, and learning & development initiatives.
* Champion employee engagement and recognition programs.
* Collaborate with senior leaders to deliver strategic HR interventions.
About You
* 10+ years' HR experience with postgraduate qualifications.
* Proven expertise in industrial relations, EBA negotiations, and union engagement.
* Strong HR generalist background, with all facets of HR plus with strategic planning capability, demonstrating strong trusted partnering relationships
* Experience managing payroll and HR systems.
* Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.
* Ability to seamlessly and intelligently move between strategic HR, and operational HR
* Related Industries include Supply Chain, Packaging, Transport, Retail, Manufacturing however open to transferable skills from other industries
