Supervising Young People in Custody
As a casual youth officer, you will provide direct supervision and care to young people from diverse backgrounds who are temporarily being held in custody.
* Possess good verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
* Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural awareness
* Be able to demonstrate good judgement and ensure young people are treated fairly and with dignity
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct supervision and care to young people in custody
* Escort young people to court and/or Youth Justice Centres and gather information for relevant authorities
* Participate in on-call casual work, ideal as a second job
Requirements:
* Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with unlimited working rights
* Minimum Provisional 2 NSW Driver's licence
* Working with Children Check Clearance
* Ability to complete 5 full days of paid training
