Position Summary

The Business Relationship Manager is a pivotal role within the Business Operations team, tasked with supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs in growing sustainable enterprises by providing strategic and timely business advice and critical support services. Business Services include business planning, financial forecasting, product development, market research, and more.

Our team of Business Relationship Managers are building business capability, which will allow us to scale and increase investment readiness.

Our diverse and multi-disciplined team provides guidance, expertise, and resources to Indigenous-led and owned businesses across various areas. We support businesses in achieving their full potential and creating sustainable, thriving, and impactful businesses.

This role is a part-time position of 22.8 hours per week, and the days and times can be agreed upon with the right candidate. The role is hybrid office days per week), and some state and interstate travel will be required.

Key Responsibilities

* Build and manage tailored engagement plans for Indigenous businesses, fostering ongoing and meaningful relationships.
* Establish trusted partnerships with Indigenous businesses and financial stakeholders to support effective collaboration.
* Support financial structuring by preparing insightful analysis, reports, and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
* Actively engage with businesses to monitor financial performance, identify early signs of risk, and provide practical advice on mitigation strategies.
* Lead and support customer relationships during periods of financial difficulty, including restructures and hardship management in collaboration with Analyst teams.
* Provide sustained support to help businesses regain financial stability and return to sustainable trading.
* Undertake market and industry research to inform business support strategies and identify emerging opportunities.
* Deliver holistic business advisory support across planning, strategy, financial forecasting, market development, and more.
* Assess financial health and identify opportunities or concerns through analysis of financial statements, cash flow, and industry trends.
* Prepare investment proposals to support Indigenous businesses in accessing appropriate capital solutions.

Selection Criteria

* Tertiary qualification in either business, finance, marketing, commerce or a related discipline – or equivalent practical experience
* Proven experience in business development, with capabilities in business planning, market analysis, and financial forecasting
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively, paired with strong analytical, organisational, and relationship management skills
* Experience in budget development and financial oversight in a business advisory capacity
* Track record of successfully managing and delivering projects
* Candidates with experience in diversified industries and/or the agricultural sector are encouraged to apply.
* Preferred: Familiarity with Indigenous communities, cultures, and the dynamics shaping Indigenous businesses
* Preferred: Insight into Indigenous economic development and how it intersects with capital and investment markets

Additional Requirements

* FAC operates under an Indigenous First approach, ensuring that our Indigenous stakeholders are the designers and drivers of our team's activities and decisions.
* Ongoing right to work in Australia.
* Flexibility to undertake interstate travel on occasion is required
* Some attendance at after-hours meetings and/or events may be required.
* A valid full Australian driving license.
* A national criminal history check (or similar).
