From 1 January 2026, Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health and Nexus Primary Health will merged to form a new, unified not-for-profit community health organisation, Omnia Community Health. This decision follows an extensive exploration process that confirmed the merger will improve access to safe, high-quality, and sustainable health and community services across the Hume, Macedon Ranges, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie local government areas. The new organisation brings together the deep community connections, shared values and specialist expertise of both entities. Services span general practice, allied health, disability support, mental health, early childhood, family services, aged care and community wellbeing, delivered from sites in Broadford, Kinglake, Kyneton, Romsey, Seymour, Sunbury and Wallan, with additional outreach into surrounding.
About the Role
We are seeking applicants for a highly motivated and experienced a General and Family Violence Counsellor to join a well-established counselling team in Sunbury.
Applicants will have a clear understanding of mental health and family violence issues and treatment, as well as a solid understanding of counselling skills and group work. You will have a trauma informed intersectional approach to counselling, as well as be a proven self-starter with exceptional autonomy skills and ability to in a team environment as part of a wider Mental Health and Wellbeing unit.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Degree level qualifications in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline. Credentialing as a psychologist, provisional psychologist, or accredited mental health social worker is desirable.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering therapeutic interventions to people experiencing mental health issues and family violence.
* Experience working with a diverse client group and group facilitation.
* Sound knowledge of the service system.
