Fixed Term Temporary - Full Time, 76 hours p.f., from date of appointment for up to 12 months with the possibility of extension. (Applications will remain current for 12 months)
Remuneration
* Competitive remuneration package value up to $175,370 p.a., comprising salary between $129,583 - $150,240 p.a., (L4-L9)
* Employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%)
* Annual leave loading (17.5%)
* Vocational training subsidy
The primary purpose of the position is to provide patient management supervision in the ambulatory setting of Cancer Care Services.
Other responsibilities
* Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service values.
* Comply with the obligation to act and make decisions in a way compatible with human rights, as required by the Human Rights Act 2019.
* Provide medical care under the supervision and direction of senior medical staff.
* Accurately, concisely, and legibly document clinical information in patient charts.
* Ensure discharge summaries and other correspondence are completed promptly and prior to leaving the unit.
* Conduct patient interviews, examinations, and identify clinical problems, including daily patient reviews.
* Arrange investigations, medical treatments, and discharges as directed by the assigned consultant.
* Assist with medical procedures and outpatient clinics as directed by the assigned consultant.
* Provide timely, legible, elucidatory, and signed clinical notes clearly identifying the author, including:
o Medical record entries reflecting discussions, decisions, and reasoning
o Case notes
o Discharge summaries (completed on the day of discharge) to facilitate ongoing care
o Medication charts/prescriptions (in accordance with the Poisons Act)
o Death certificates and associated documentation
* Maintain proficient typing and computer/word processing skills to operate evolving clinical and administrative systems.
* Provide support to junior and senior medical staff as required.
* Supervise, assess, and teach junior doctors who are AMC Workplace Based Assessment candidates.
* Assist with case presentations at teaching meetings.
* Participate in clinical meetings within the appropriate clinical unit.
* Participate in afterhours shift roster as required by the Director of Medical Services.
* Engage in continuous professional development and medical education.
Essential qualifications
* Mandatory possession of a medical qualification from a registered tertiary institution.
* Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* Appointment requires proof of qualification and, if applicable, registration or membership with the appropriate authority or association.
* Certified copies of required documents must be provided to the supervisor/manager before clinical duties commence.
* At least 3 years postgraduate hospital experience is highly desirable.
* Participation in shift rosters is a requirement of the position.
* This position requires working at other facilities within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service.
* A licence to operate a class C motor vehicle is required, and proof must be provided before commencement of duty.
* Hepatitis B vaccination is required for health care workers at risk of exposure to blood or body fluids, as per national guidelines.
* Vaccination against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chickenpox), and pertussis (whooping cough) is a condition of employment.
* Existing staff employed before 1 July 2016 are exempt from the vaccination condition unless transferring to a different Queensland Health entity.
* TB risk assessment is a condition of employment for this role.
* Existing staff employed before 14 December 2018 are exempt from the TB requirement unless transferring to a different Queensland Health entity.
