About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect to lead a major transformation initiative, primarily focused on exiting our on-premises data centres and migrating to Microsoft Azure and other Microsoft cloud services. This dedicated project role will also support broader infrastructure uplift and reliability improvements, helping to enhance performance, security, and scalability across the organisation.
You will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering secure, cloud-optimised solutions. Working closely with engineering, operations, and cybersecurity teams, you'll ensure architectural decisions align with enterprise standards and enable a seamless transition to a modern technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the execution of a strategic cloud transformation program, migrating from on-premises data centres to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
* Design and implement secure, scalable network and security architectures to support hybrid and cloud-native workloads.
* Develop and document solution architectures aligned with enterprise standards and project roadmap.
* Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to delivery teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure smooth delivery.
* Support infrastructure uplift initiatives that enhance system reliability, performance, and security.
* Identify and mitigate risks related to migration, networking, security, and legacy systems.
* Ensure compliance with governance processes, architecture standards, and security requirements.
* This is a 24 month fixed term contract.
About you
* 5+ years of experience infrastructure engineering, infrastructure architecture and exposure to applications.
* Proven experience delivering cloud migration projects, ideally to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
* Strong understanding of cloud networking and security architecture, including ExpressRoute, VPN, segmentation, Zero Trust, and Microsoft Defender/Entra.
* Expertise in Microsoft cloud platforms and enterprise IT environments.
* Ability to work within an established architecture framework and translate strategy into practical solutions.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, CISSP, Microsoft Certified: Security or Networking) are highly regarded.
