Position
Casual Immunisation Nurse (working 2-3 days per week)
Hourly rate: $53 - $57 + 12% super + 25% casual loading. Dependent on experience.
Role
We are seeking vibrant, innovative and enthusiastic Immunisation Nurses to join our team. Candidates must be able to work independently and in a team environment and be available 2-3 days per week. The role requires highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate effectively to a diverse range of families, communities and professionals.
Minimum qualifications include current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, current accreditation as a Nurse Immuniser recognised in Victoria. Highly desired: experience in community immunisation programs, secondary school immunisation programmes and availability to work evenings. The role includes set up/pack up at immunisation sessions.
Key Responsibilities
* Administer vaccines with informed consent to infants, children, adolescents and adults at immunisation sessions.
* Provide appropriate pre and post immunisation advice and care to parents, guardians and adult clients.
* Develop and administer catch-up schedules for overdue clients as required.
* Transport and manage storage of vaccines prior to, at and in transit to and from venues, always observing correct cold-chain parameters.
* Monitor the emergency kit and lead management of any acute reaction.
* Ensure sharps and immunisation waste are managed safely and within guidelines.
* Accurately record and collate data from all sources to maintain accurate medical records.
Qualifications & Experience
* Well-developed written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Cooperative team player with commitment to achieving quality outcomes.
* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
* Accreditation as an Immunisation Nurse.
* Experience vaccinating infants, children and adults.
* Trained in emergency CPR and First Aid.
* Current valid Victorian Driver's Licence.
* Employee Working with Children Check or ability to obtain one.
