The Role
Applecross Senior High School is seeking a creative and inspiring Media and Design Teacher to join the Arts team. The successful applicant should be able to deliver the Visual Arts curriculum across a broad spectrum of contexts including Media, Design and Visual Art for Years 7 to 12. Outstanding skills in a range of 2D, 3D or time-based media are highly regarded. Professional industry experience is relevant to the role. The successful applicant should have effective interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with the Arts team, strong classroom management, an ability to differentiate curriculum to meet individual student needs, and a commitment to fostering an environment of active and positive learning.
Arts teachers at Applecross SHS support and extend Gifted & Talented students, engaging learners from diverse contexts and backgrounds. They are committed to wellbeing, excellence, play, risk, creativity and developing transferable life skills such as empathy, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. Experience teaching Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) would be highly regarded but is not essential. The successful applicant should be highly motivated, student-focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful Arts learning experiences.
