The Opportunity
We're seeking an Electrical Engineering Instrumentation & Control Project Engineer to join our team in Wollongong. This role shapes the future of our operations, leading projects from conception to completion with a focus on efficiency, safety, and reliability.
Responsibilities
* Manage all aspects of electrical instrumentation and control (I&C) projects, from design and procurement to installation, commissioning, and handover.
* Develop and implement I&C strategies for new and existing facilities, ensuring alignment with project requirements and safety standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
* Oversee I&C system calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
* Stay up-to-date on the latest I&C technologies and advancements, actively seeking opportunities to implement them for improved performance.
* Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the I&C department, fostering a culture of innovation and learning.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in I&C design, implementation, and maintenance within a heavy industry setting.
* Proven track record of successfully managing I&C projects from start to finish.
* Strong understanding of electrical control systems (PLC, DCS), instrumentation types, and communication protocols.
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
