Primary objective
Ensure delivery of high quality, culturally appropriate and effective case management services for complex and long stay patients at Royal
Darwin Palmerston Hospital whilst providing clinical leadership and supervision to Allied Health Professionals within NT Health.

Context statement
NT Health provides integrated allied health services in a variety of service settings including acute and sub-acute care, primary health care,
aged care and mental health. This position will require the applicant to work within an extended hour’s service model working with patients
and their families to navigate movement out of an acute setting into appropriate transitional or community based care setting.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide timely, clinically and culturally appropriate case management services within a multidisciplinary framework.
2. Provide expert advice on program and clinical issues within the relevant profession.
3. Provide leadership, supervision, mentorship and education to staff and students.
4. Independently organise and manage a high volume complex workload within a dynamic and evolving work environment to ensure

timelines and health outcomes are met.
5. Initiate, implement and complete research, continuous quality improvement, and service development activities at a local or regional

level to ensure delivery of contemporary professional services.
6. Lead and/or monitor the achievement of work unit goals and key performance indicators
7. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order

to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
8. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Relevant qualifications in an allied health profession that meets membership eligibility requirements of the relevant professional

association, and registration for practice with the relevant Professional Board of Australia.
2. Extensive post graduate experience in providing contemporary, high level clinical allied health services to patients and families/carers.
3. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experience in working effectively with patients and

families/carers of diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
4. Proven high level communication and interpersonal skills, including well developed negotiation and conflict management skills, with

significant experience working in a team environment to achieve positive health outcomes.
5. Extensive experience in clinical supervision of students and staff and a commitment to professional development.
6. Proven ability to initiate, implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
7. Proven ability to efficiently and effectively organise and manage a high volume complex workload.
8. Demonstrated high level leadership skills with capacity to provide leadership in a team environment.

Desirable
1. Post-graduate qualifications in clinical education, leadership / management, speciality practice area or another relevant field.
