Job Overview
We are hiring for a skilled Electrical Technician to support our underground mobile mining fleet. The role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic systems, including wiring, starting and charging systems, batteries, control circuits, hydraulic components, and other related systems on underground mobile equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic systems on underground mobile trucks, shovels, and other mining equipment.
* Fault‐find and repair wiring, starting and charging systems, batteries, and control circuits.
* Perform routine maintenance and inspections to identify potential issues and minimise downtime.
* Carry out planned maintenance services, inspections, and breakdown repairs across the fleet.
* Execute complex diagnostics and maintenance activities / repairs on mobile plant.
* Conduct preventive maintenance, servicing, and breakdown repairs on mobile mining equipment.
* Work on new and near‐new fleet that is owned and maintained by the company.
* Participate in machine rebuilds, refurbishments and innovation upgrades.
* Ensure all work is performed safely at all times and in compliance with safety procedures.
* Build solid relationships with customers and team members.
Qualifications & Requirements
* ARCtick accredited licence for air conditioning (automotive).
* Australian recognised Trade Certificate Air Conditioning Refrigerant Handling License.
* Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology.
* Previous field‐service HME experience working on surface mining equipment.
* Experience in the same or similar position and on underground mining equipment (e.g., CAT trucks).
* Able to carry out auto‐electrical repairs, fault finding and diagnostics on underground equipment.
* Interest in technology and design.
Working Conditions
FIFO from Perth. Thursday fly in / fly out and 7/7 day shift roster with DIDO/BIBO from Mackay, Rockhampton, or other locations. You will receive $73/hr (super) with optional overtime and long‐term opportunities.
