Eurofins Agro Testing is an accredited agricultural testing laboratory specializing in soil, plant, and water testing, with laboratories located in Hindmarsh South Australia, Belmont Western Australia, Burleigh Heads Queensland, and Dandenong South Victoria. Our client base includes farmers, agronomists, rural retailers, and research organizations, with samples originating from across Australia.
Job Description
* 4 months fixed term with a potential extension
* Immediate start
* Based in Burleigh Heads Queensland
As a Sample Preparation Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring all samples are appropriately receipted, sorted, prepared, packed, and sent for analysis in a timely manner to meet operational, customer, and quality requirements.
This autonomous role will focus on:
* Receipting samples from walk-ins
* Checking the PO Box for sample deliveries
* Ensuring client details and test requirements are correct
* Drying samples in ovens
* Grinding of soils & plant samples as required
* Adequately packing and organizing courier pickups using an online portal
* Ensuring courier deadlines are met
* Working in a fast-paced sample receipt and preparation area
* Ensuring samples are completed in a timely manner and correct methods, procedures, and work instructions are adhered to
Qualifications
What we are looking for in individuals to join our team
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks
* Ability to follow procedures with absolute attention to detail
* Excellent numeracy, written, and oral communication skills
* Great organizational skills and ability to multi-task
* Able to be deadline-focused
Experience in a commercial sample preparation laboratory would be advantageous but not required. Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment (e.g., fast food, hospitality, warehouse) would be highly regarded and beneficial for this role.
