About Beck Water
Beck Water is a specialist provider of water and wastewater infrastructure solutions across Australia. We design, manufacture and supply packaged pump stations, pressure sewer systems, pump station fit-out solutions and associated services to councils, contractors, consultants and developers.
With strong growth across QLD and NSW, we are seeking an experienced Estimator to support our internal pricing and commercial operations.
The Role
The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, commercially sound internal quotations for pump stations, pressure sewer systems and related infrastructure solutions.
This is not a tender administration role.
It is a technical, commercially focused estimating role embedded within our sales and engineering team.
You will work closely with:
* Sales Managers
* Hydraulic designers
* Project Managers
* Manufacturing and supply partners
To ensure quotes are technically correct, commercially viable, and aligned with Beck Water’s margin targets.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Estimating & Quoting
* Prepare detailed internal costings for:
o Packaged pump stations (concrete, FRP, poly)
o Pressure sewer systems
o Pump station fit-out packages
o Upgrade and retrofit works
* Review drawings, hydraulic information and project scope
* Build structured cost breakdowns
* Source and negotiate supplier pricing
* Apply margin strategy in line with business targets
* Provide pricing clarifications to the sales team
Technical & Commercial Review
* Identify scope gaps and commercial risks
* Confirm technical assumptions with engineering team
* Assist in value engineering and alternative design options
* Maintain accurate cost databases
* Review historical project costs to improve pricing accuracy
* Ensure quotes are aligned with manufacturing capability and supply timelines
Internal Collaboration
* Support the Sales Team with timely, accurate pricing
* Participate in internal quote review meetings
* Assist in refining standardised pricing models for recurring products
* Work within Beck Water’s ISO-aligned processes
Preferred Experience
✔ 3–5+ years estimating experience in the water or wastewater industry
✔ Experience pricing pump stations, pressure sewer or civil water infrastructure
✔ Strong understanding of:
* Sewer and water reticulation systems
* Pumping systems
* Civil construction elements
* Mechanical and electrical components
✔ Ability to read and interpret:
* Hydraulic drawings
* Mechanical layouts
* Electrical schematics
* Civil plans
✔ Experience working within a supplier, manufacturer or contractor environment
Desirable
* Experience pricing precast concrete structures
* Understanding of pump selection and hydraulic calculations
* Familiarity with WSA codes and Australian Standards
* Experience working with councils and developers in SEQ or NSW
