Middleware and Database Administrator Role
We are seeking an experienced Middleware and Database Administrator to support the integrity, security, availability, and performance of corporate applications and databases. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the seamless operation of our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, manage, and maintain middleware products and supporting databases to guarantee security, performance, integrity, and recoverability.
* Design and implement appropriate application middleware hosting environments to support development, testing, training, and production activities.
* Participate in formulating and maintaining technical standards.
* Provide technical support for middleware and database issues.
* Work with ICT teams to implement and support inter-application interfaces and integration with hosting platforms.
* Manage, prepare, and maintain high-quality documentation to support the operations of middleware support services and corporate application hosting.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Demonstrated experience in delivering middleware administration services using Microsoft SQL Server and associated tools and technologies.
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science or Information Technology.
* Experience in administrating corporate applications on Microsoft Windows Server or Unix/Linux server.
* Proficiency in Apache Web Server, IIS applications, Wildfly/Java Application Server, and Apache Tomcat.
* Advanced knowledge of contemporary project management practices.
* Highly developed research, analytical, evaluation, and reporting skills.
* Highly developed interpersonal communication skills and the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively.
* A proactive work style and the ability to manage yourself and others to deliver high-quality outcomes or complex problem-solving in line with our strategic direction.
This is not a development role; rather, it focuses on managing and supporting complex application environments. You should be confident working in an enterprise-level application support capacity, with a strong understanding of infrastructure, middleware, and systems integration.
