Team Leader - Aboriginal Family Safety Program/s
Gudjagang Ngara li-dhi is an Aboriginal Organisation on the Central Coast of NSW representing the Aboriginal communities that fall within the Local Government area of Central Coast.
The name Gudjagang Ngara li-dhi is from the Darkinjung language and means 'listen to the children'. This principle forms the basis of our core belief that Aboriginal children and young people need to be connected to their community and culture and to participate and contribute to their story.
The Team Leader – Aboriginal Family Safety Program/s provides leadership, supervision and coordination to the Family & Domestic Violence teams within GNL's Family Wellbeing stream.
This is a hybrid position, combining leadership responsibilities with direct practice. Alongside supporting and supervising staff, the successful applicant will carry a small case load to maintain direct engagement with families and support culturally responsive service delivery.
The role is responsible for supporting staff to deliver high-quality, culturally safe and trauma-informed services to Aboriginal children, young people and families. The successful applicant will oversee casework practice, support community engagement activities, coordinate program delivery and ensure compliance with organisational and funding requirements.
The position will support families to build knowledge, confidence and skills around Domestic & Family Violence. Deliver practical strategies for positive communication and stronger family bonds, help families navigate services and access essential supports, and co-create safety plans for both users and victims. Provide trauma‐informed support to reduce re‐traumatisation and assist survivors' recovery—physically, mentally, emotionally and economically.
