We are seeking a motivated and community-focused Project Officer to support and strengthen Council’s Emergency Management capability. In this role, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to help ensure our community is prepared, informed, and resilient before, during, and after emergencies.
What you’ll be doing
* Support the Head of People, Safety and Culture to develop and review community risk strategies and policies.
* Work with the Manager of Community Services to design programs that support vulnerable people during emergencies.
* Update and maintain Council’s Emergency Management Plan (EMP) in consultation with stakeholders.
* Develop and deliver emergency management training and exercises for staff.
* Work with external agencies to strengthen emergency management partnerships.
* Promote Council’s emergency management framework and community resilience initiatives.
* Provide support to the Municipal Emergency Management Committee and Internal Emergency Management Working Group.
* Participate in the Incident Management Team and respond during emergency events as required.
What you’ll bring
* Strong administrative and planning skills, with experience in risk or emergency management.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and implement community-based projects and policies.
* Demonstrated skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
* Ability to work well with different agencies and communities.
* Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
* Experience building strong relationships and ability to influence decision-making.
* A creative and analytical approach to problem-solving.

* A base salary between $92,004.56 and $102,268.53 (pro-rata) will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) + 13% superannuation.
