APS5 Technical Officer | Specialist Role in Biotherapeutics
Randstad is seeking a skilled and dedicated APS5 Technical Officer to join a key team within the Australian Federal Government.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in biological sciences and chemistry to a role that is critical for ensuring the quality and safety of therapeutic goods in Australia.
Your work will directly contribute to national regulatory standards and international harmonization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and report on laboratory testing of therapeutic goods to verify quality standards and support regulatory investigations.
- Contribute to the development of new testing methods and ensure their reliability and validity.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and manage data within the information management system, adhering to quality and accreditation standards.
- Contribute to the development of high-quality, evidence-based testing manuals and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Provide guidance and training to new staff on testing methods and equipment used in the laboratory.
- Manage laboratory inventory and liaise with suppliers to ensure the availability of essential consumables and equipment.
- Perform testing, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement activities within the section.
Required Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a regulated laboratory environment, preferably within the government sector.
- Specialised skillset in biological sciences and chemistry.
- Experience in the development of new testing methods.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to maintaining accurate records and data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively exchange information with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a high-performing team.
