We are seeking a Senior Mine Geologist - Open Pit for the Kal East Gold Operation to help position the Kalgoorlie project for long-term success.
The position is FIFO from Perth or residential from Kalgoorlie with a negotiable roster. Lakewood is ~6km from Kalgoorlie, with our mining operations located within a 40km radius of the centralised processing facility.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Geology Manager, the Senior Mine Geologist - Open Pit will lead the open pit geology team, overseeing all grade control activities and ensuring the implementation of fit for purpose workflows to optimise ore recovery and minimise dilution.
We are also focused on developing our next Geology Manager, making this an excellent opportunity for a motivated Senior who wants to grow their career and eventually step up into this role.

About You
Tertiary qualification in Geology or equivalent.
Strong experience as a geologist in open pit gold mining including leading a team.
Strong experience with mining software that includes 3D modelling and resource estimation methods as required for day to day, near term mine planning and geology software packages such as Deswik, Datamine, Leapfrog and Acquire.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sampling, QA/QC, drillhole and database validation, block modelling, reporting and mine reconciliation.
Familiar with budgeting cycles and the preparation and development of budgets.
Excellent understanding of grade control, sampling practices, and mining methods, systems and processes.
Ability to implement, improve and develop procedures for all aspects of the open pit geology department.
Demonstrated skills and knowledge in risk management, safety and environmental systems and legislative and statutory requirements, particularly the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Regulations (Mines) 2022.
