About The Role
In the role of a Disability Support Worker working in Supported Independent Living (SIL) you will be supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.

In the role of a Disability Support Worker working in Supported Independent Living (SIL) you will be supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance. You can expect to work across a 24/7 roster.
Key Responsibilities
* Must have availability for a minimum of 2 sleepover shifts per week
* A commitment to supporting and advocating the individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals of people with disability through strong communication including non-verbal communication, flexibility and adaptability as well as behaviour management
* Empower the people we support to live independently and achieve their goals by implementing and monitoring individual support, behaviour support, and health care plans with a person-centred approach
* Track and document an individual's progress through detailed note-keeping using basic technology and software on mobile devices and desktops
* Supporting participants with psychosocial and physical disability
Skills & Experience
* A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 (or willingness to obtain)
* Current unrestricted driver's licence and access to reliable vehicle (minimum Third Party Insurance)
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
