The role: Field Survey Advisor
Location: Perth (city) based location
Duration: two (2) year contract
Roster: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week
Chandler Macleod are pleased to offer people who are interested in native flora and fauna a genuinely exciting opportunity to join us at our client, a Tier 1 iron ore miner, as a Field Survey Advisor
Responsibilities
* Lead biological surveys in remote Pilbara areas
* Undertake effective survey planning including health and safety, scheduling, site mobilisation and logistics for environmental consultants
* Effectively apply the steps of Rio Tinto contractor management
* Contribute to the development and improvement of biological assessment methods, processes and technologies to ensure continuous improvement
* Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external technical specialists
* Provide procurement support through the vendor identification, selection and procurement processes, performance management process
* Contribute toward an inclusive culture through collaboration with peers across the broader Environmental Approvals team
Qualifications and Skills
* A commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your team
* Ideally you will bring project management, contractor management and administration experinece
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills coupled with an ability to think on your feet and make quick rational decisions
* Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to quickly develop positive and robust relationships with stakeholders
* Experience using technical software e.g. GIS/ ArcGIS
* Ability to work flexibly in a high-paced role, managing deliverables and stakeholders whilst maintaining autonomy and self-motivation
* Consistently demonstrates behaviours aligned with Rio Tinto values of Courage, Care and Curiosity
Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity you must be legally entitled to work without restriction in Australia and most importantly currently residing in Perth as this is a Perth based role.
