**What You Will Be Doing**
Peninsula Health's Intensive Care Unit is a 13-bed level III facility based out of Frankston Hospital (Peninsula Health's Acute Care Site) with affiliations to both Monash and Deakin Universities. The unit is staffed by 8 intensivists, all Fellows of the College of Intensive Care Medicine and is accredited as a C12 unit by the College. There are 13 registrars of whom 12 are registered with the College including 4 advanced and 8 basic trainees. Frankston Hospital ICU is a high acuity ICU with a broad general case mix, excluding cardiac and neurosurgery.
The principal aim of TY program at Frankston ICU is to prepare a post fellow ship exam trainee for role as an independently functioning junior ICU consultant delivering high quality patient care, who can contribute in domains outside core clinical care in functioning of ICU, as outlined in College of Intensive Care Medicine guideline IC-2.
It is strongly encouraged that trainee undertaking TY pursues higher qualifications depending on area of interest (e.g. Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound - Critical Care, Graduate Certificate in Clinical Education).
**What You Need**
- MBBS or equivalent
- Currently hold General Registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA
- Registration as a trainee with College of Intensive Care Medicine.
