They are looking for a General Manager to take this business into the next phase of growth.
About the role
This is an opportunity to be an autonomous business leader, with the support of a larger group. The established business which is one of the market leaders in this specialised manufacturing space, will be able to offer a supportive hand over period for this highly profitable entity.
**Key responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
Being hands on in managing and overseeing the success of business operations in this manufacturing business
Development & execution of the businesses strategic operational plan
Reviewing and improving organisational effectiveness by developing internal processes, overseeing employees and establishing a high-performance work environment
Leading and managing the office & manufacturing team of circa 40 people to ensure that they are performing their duties optimally, ensuring the company delivers the highest level of customer service possible and aligns with the company values and policies
Promoting, managing and leading a safe working culture for all employees
Improving overall production efficiency by optimizing processes, reducing waste, and implementing lean manufacturing principles
Implementing and maintaining a robust quality management system to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations
Complying with all relative legislation, statutory requirements, working procedures, codes of practice and industry standards
Chairing and recording details of all meetings - submitting to the CEO relevant issues for tabling at Management Meetings
About You
To be successful in this role you will ideally be tertiary qualified in a business discipline. You will have a proven track record in manufacturing & general management with knowledge across manufacturing, continuous / process improvement practices, sales, HR, operations and communications.
Experience of having worked your way up through a manufacturing or distribution business or having run a factory/manufacturing business would be key to your success in this role. The manufacturing processes are largely manual, with specialist machinery used in the production process. Experience in similar manufacturing environments would be advantageous.
Ultimately though, you are a people leader, you instil loyalty and inspire your people to be better, you are values driven and even as General Manager, you are happy to be hands on and show your people how to get things done.
