About the role
The Preschools and Early Childhood Services division provides strategic leadership and delivery of early childhood policy and programs for the Department for Education. This includes providing policy, reform and service advice and support for early childhood education and care settings, design and delivery of universal and targeted early childhood programs and services, early years intergovernmental advice and implementation of national early childhood initiatives.
The Senior Policy and Program Officer is responsible for coordinating and supporting policy and program delivery for early years programs and initiatives in the Quality Preschools directorate. This includes operational management of defined programs, data analysis, managing program reporting and identifying opportunities for program improvement, coordinating governance activities and managing internal and external stakeholders.

Special conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
ASO6 $98,478 - $104,165 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (12%) and leave loading
