Our new Senior People Data Analyst will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning and execution of data activities for our new Human Capital Management (HCM) system across V/Line. The successful candidate’s main focus will be around migrating people-related data from legacy systems and sources, ensuring data integrity and compliance. Key responsibilities involve analysing legacy data, developing migration strategies, managing cleansing and transformation processes, coordinating with stakeholders, and validating data during cutover and post go-live. This position is critical to maintaining HR and payroll continuity and supporting long-term reporting and workforce planning.

Responsibilities

- Analyse legacy data, develop migration strategies, manage cleansing and transformation processes, and validate data during cutover and post go-live for the HCM system.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure data integrity and compliance across HR, payroll and workforce management domains.
- Oversee planning and execution of data activities for the HCM implementation and ongoing reporting needs.

About You

- Demonstrated experience successfully working as a Data Analyst for complex HCM, HRIS or Workforce Management system implementations
- Deep knowledge of people data in human resources, payroll, and workforce management domains
- Proficiency in data analysis, cleansing, profiling, and validation techniques
- Advanced Excel experience
- Understanding of or exposure to ETL tools, data integration platforms, SQL
- Experience collaborating with system vendors and managing third-party deliverables
- Familiarity with privacy legislation and governance frameworks (e.g. Australian Privacy Act)
- Demonstrated experience leading direct reports (highly desirable)
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Data Science, Business Systems, or related discipline (highly desirable)
