Who's hiring?
Back in 2005, OTFC (that's Occupational Therapy for Children) was just a little Adelaide practice with a small but mighty team. Fast forward nearly two decades and OTFC has grown into something much bigger–three thriving clinics in South Australia, a regional location in the Riverland, and even a Gold Coast hub. Along the way, we've pioneered the world's first occupational therapy clinic designed specifically for adolescents and young adults, supported over 10,000 young people, and built a reputation for therapy that looks like fun, feels like fun– and is fun. In short: life-changing fun. What hasn't changed? The heart. OTFC is still proudly family-owned, purpose-driven, and fuelled by the belief that play has the power to change lives. Our team is collaborative, passionate, and ambitious (in all the right ways). Now, we're looking for an HR Advisor who can bring that same energy to our people function.
So, what's the role?
As OTFC's HR Advisor, you'll be the go-to person for all things people and culture–from making sure our policies are compliant to making sure our people feel seen, supported, and celebrated. One minute you'll be coaching a team member, the next you'll be shaping recruitment strategies to bring in the right talent to fuel our growth. You'll design and deliver initiatives that develop our leaders, champion wellbeing, and foster a culture where high performance doesn't mean high burnout. At its core, this role is about embedding OTFC's values into everything we do: balancing the big-picture strategic work (like workforce planning and leadership development) with the everyday hands-on HR activities that keep our clinics running smoothly. You'll sit across the executive team, clinical, and corporate departments–helping us stay compliant, connected, and ready for what's next.
Here's what a typical week might look like:
No two weeks at OTFC are the same–but that's half the fun. As our HR Advisor, your week could look a little like this:
* Running a smooth end-to-end hiring process—screening applications, sitting in on interviews, and rolling out welcome mats for new starters. You'll also be the friendly face behind inductions, probation check-ins, and student placement coordination.
* Keeping our Employment Hero platform up to date, reviewing contracts and certifications, and making sure we're always aligned with Fair Work legislation and WHS obligations. (Basically, making sure the i's are dotted and the t's are crossed—without losing sight of the humans behind the paperwork.)
* Partnering with leadership on the big picture, whether it's planning around clinic openings or helping to shape initiatives like trialling a four-day week (yes, really).
* Coordinating training programs and supporting emerging leaders, while keeping an eye on what skills our people need next to keep us ahead of the curve.
* Making sure performance reviews are meaningful, monitoring staff engagement through ELMO, and helping design initiatives that keep our EVP (think flu shots, uniforms, and those small but mighty employee perks) humming along.
* Pulling together HR metrics and insights that inform board-level decisions, crafting updates for the team, and being the go-to guide for all things HR policy and practice.
Enough about us—let's talk about whether this role is for you
You'll thrive (something we know a thing or two about) in this role if you:
* Bring generalist HR or advisory experience, with solid knowledge of Australian employment law and the Fair Work framework.
* Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, or a related field (AHRI membership is a plus).
* Know that "soft skills" are anything but soft—you've got emotional intelligence in spades.
* Aren't just across the details—you're five steps ahead of them.
* Love strategy but can happily roll up your sleeves when the team needs support.
* Are a bit of a stickler for the rules (Fair Work compliance makes you oddly happy), but you know how to have fun and even organise it.
* See culture as something built every day, not just at social events.
* Have a sixth sense for when something's off, and can bring clarity, connection, and calm when it's needed most.
* Are comfortable coaching managers, supporting performance conversations, and building learning programs that actually land.
* Can interpret data, forecast workforce needs, and create board-ready reports (without losing sight of the humans behind the numbers).
* Shine in stakeholder engagement—you're confident working with execs, clinicians, and everyone in between
* Most of all—you love to learn, play, and connect.
What's in it for you?
* A role with genuine scope—help shape HR in a growing organisation.
* Career development and leadership pathways.
* Autonomy and support—you'll have both.
* Inclusive parental leave policy, Vibe & Thrive allowance, free workshops, and access to EAP (because we want you to thrive outside of work too)
* Regular celebrations, team events, and a fun, supportive culture.
* Great location and a leadership team that actually listens.
