Offender Management Specialist
The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a dedicated Offender Management Specialist to support the delivery of rehabilitation programs at Tarrengower Prison.
This key role plays a critical part in our commitment to release preparation and community reintegration, focusing on the development of healthy prison environments that promote family unity and cultural diversity.
About the Role
The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and training to case workers, ensuring consistent quality offender management processes across the location.
Key duties include:
* Implementing offender management initiatives and strategies to achieve framework objectives
* Mentoring case workers on offender management processes, including case planning and strategy implementation
* Liaising with leadership team members to ensure consistent offender management practices
* Developing and maintaining information systems for evaluating process outcomes and reporting data as required
* Communicating with prisoners and providing constructive direction and feedback
About You
* To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* Knowledge of the Offender Management Framework and Community Corrections Permit Program is desirable
* Understanding of the Prison Pathway and relevant legislation is essential
Requirements
* Completion of the Prison Officer Pre-service Training or similar qualification
* Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial) or equivalent is desirable
