For over two decades, Aussie Helpers has supported farmers and rural communities during times of hardship, delivering practical, hands‐on assistance that helps keep people on the land. As the organisation transitions to its first CEO outside the founding family, this is a rare opportunity to build on a strong legacy while shaping a sustainable and impactful future.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Board, the CEO will lead the organisation end‐to‐end, driving strategy, operations, stakeholder engagement, and financial sustainability. This is a highly visible role, acting as the face of the organisation across government, media, donors, and the broader community. Success will require the ability to balance strategic leadership with a hands‐on approach, working closely with a passionate team and maintaining strong connections with rural communities.
Qualifications & Requirements
We are seeking a proven senior leader with the ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and lead with authenticity. Experience engaging with government and external partners will be highly regarded, along with strong communication skills and confidence in public and media settings. A genuine connection to rural or regional Australia is essential, as is a collaborative leadership style and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and contribute alongside the team.
Compensation & Logistics
This is a unique opportunity to lead a respected, mission‐driven organisation where your work will have a direct and lasting impact. The role offers flexibility to be based within Queensland (with a preference for regional locations) and will require regular travel to engage with communities and stakeholders.
