It is situated in the historic Macleay Valley known for its cedar timber industry, the home of Slim Dusty and the iconic Akubra hat factory. It consists of 82 beds, with a variety of care units. About the Role
As a Gardener at one of our care homes, you will be responsible for maintaining the grounds to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our residents.
This is a Part Time role 3-4 days a week
Duties
* Mowing of lawns, maintenance of garden beds, trimming of hedges and foliage
* Planting out and replacing as needed
* Weeding, mulching and pruning
* Fertilising, controlling pests and diseases
* Compliance with all relevant WHS procedures
Skills and Experience
* Certificate II or III in Horticulture highly regarded but not essential
* At least 2 – 3 years previous experience
* Understanding of plants, pest management and chemical handling
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Previous experience gained in a similar role
* The ability to solve problems independently
* An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes
