Positions are available at Northwood Park, Seymour VIC.Horse Trainer/Breeding – Duties will include:Overseeing daily care and supervision of horsesAssisting Veterinarians with ultrasound/reproduction examination including assisting in birthing foals and administering medical treatment to foalsPreparing young stock for saleMonitoring mare ovulation and pregnancyAssisting Veterinarians in attending to medical and health needs of horses as requiredThe salary will be above award – in the range of $72,500.00 to $77,500.00 per annum depending upon the location, position, and level of responsibility. All positions are full-time.Essential Skills:A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years professional experience educating and training breeding horses.In addition, the following maybe required depending on the role:A minimum of three years’ full-time experience handling and educating thoroughbredsKnowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racingProven knowledge & experience of horse handling & training methods specific to the thoroughbred breeding industry, including working with stallions and educating young stockProven ability to train and educate young horsesOral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide informationAbility to work in a team, and independently (or proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role)Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipmentProven as reliable workers, with excellent horsemanship skillsThe successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry.Please provide a detailed CV with the names and number of two phone referees.
