Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Counsellor to join our team, providing vital support to individuals with psychosocial and mental health barriers to obtaining or sustaining employment. As a Rehabilitation Counsellor, you will work closely with clients to assess their needs, develop tailored rehabilitation plans, and provide ongoing support to facilitate their return to work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct initial assessments, psychometric testing, and brief interventions for job seekers with psychosocial and mental health barriers.
* Perform new employment vocational assessments, transferable skills analysis, and recovery support.
* Conduct initial assessments with injured workers and case management for return to same employment.
* Assess and report on psychological functional capacities/complete psychological functional assessments.
* Assess and make recommendations on effects of mental health and medical conditions on ability to work.
* Write detailed case notes and reports.
* Work with veterans to support their psychosocial, medical, and RTW goals.
* Opportunity to provide Adjustment to Injury counselling and Vocational Counselling in-person and via phone to support clients' rehabilitation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counselling
- Eligibility for ASORC or RCAA accreditation upon graduating
- Graduated within the last 12 months or graduating in 2025
- Agree to a pre-employment national criminal check prior to employment
- Hold full Australian working rights
- Hold a full drivers' license, own vehicle, and comprehensive insurance
