We're looking for a driven Digital Engagement Manager, based in Brisbane, to lead audience growth across social and emerging media for 7NEWS QLD.
In this role, you'll report directly to the Brisbane News Director and manage a small team of content creators, while working closely with newsroom staff to deliver engaging, platform-specific content that strengthens the 7NEWS brand.
What you'll do:
* Develop and execute digital distribution strategies across social and external platforms, tailoring content to evolving audience needs, particularly younger demographics
* Create and manage engaging content, including vertical videos and behind-the-scenes storytelling to enhance broadcast news
* Collaborate with producers, reporters, and platform partners to ensure consistent, on-brand content and meet network obligations
* Manage a team of content creators to ensure seven-day coverage and drive community engagement across social platforms
* Apply strong knowledge of local news and trends to effectively communicate and share stories
* Follow company policies, promote a respectful workplace, and contribute positively as a team member
What you'll bring:
* 1-3 years of social media experience using content production tools such as Premiere Pro, Quantel Go, and Viz Story
* Proven ability to deliver engaging social media campaigns in fast-paced entertainment or media environments
* Strong copywriting skills with the ability to craft compelling, audience-focused content
* Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Media or a related field
