Position Overview
The Support Worker plays a key role in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred support to NDIS participants. This role involves assisting individuals to build skills, engage in their community, maintain daily routines, and achieve their personal goals. Support Workers must be adaptable, respectful, and committed to empowering the people they support.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person‑centred support in line with participant goals, support plans, and NDIS standards
* Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal care (where applicable), household tasks, and community access
* Support participants to build independence, confidence, and life skills
* Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and documentation
* Communicate effectively with participants, families, coordinators, and the One Choice team
* Uphold professional boundaries, privacy, and safeguarding practices
* Respond calmly and appropriately to behavioural, emotional, or environmental challenges
* Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all times

Minimum Requirements
* Certificate III (or higher) in a relevant field such as Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, or equivalent
* Current National Police Check
* Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
* Current driver's licence and reliable, roadworthy vehicle
* Full working rights in Australia
* Smartphone for communication and documentation
* Willingness to undertake ongoing training and compliance updates
* First Aid & CPR certification
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Experience working with people with disabilities, mental health conditions, or complex needs
* Understanding of NDIS frameworks and reporting requirements
Work Environment
Support Workers at One Choice operate across home, community, and outdoor environments. Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and occasional public holidays depending on participant needs.
Reporting Structure
This role reports directly to the One Choice management team and works collaboratively with participants, families, and allied professionals.
Job Type: Casual
Pay: $33.88 – $44.23 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 20 per week
Work Location: In person
